A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

SpinFighters is a roguelike deckbuilder with autobattling asynchronous pvp, fusing ideas from games like Luck Be A Landlord and games like The Bazaar or Super Auto Pets.

Every spin draws up to 20 cards from your deck to permanently increase your fighter's stats, improving your output in combat. Draft cards to craft your deck, augments to improve your spins, tactics to give an edge in combat, and choose a spell to define your fighting style.

Try to string together enough combat victories for a winning run!

This game is still an early version and some of the art is placeholder.

Wow, this is incredible. As someone who’s completed all floors of Luck Be a Landlord and loves slot-machine roguelikes like Cat God Ranch, I can honestly say this definitely earns a spot alongside them—no pun intended! Great job! I’ll absolutely be buying and supporting this on release.

Also, I personally think you're a bit too generous with the loss system—it might be more intense (and satisfying) if it were one loss and you're out. Just a thought to refine the stakes and speed up the pace to match the rest of the game !

It sounds like you are very much the target audience so I'm elated to hear that you think it holds up against those games (which I am a fan of as well).

That's an interesting thought on the loss system, and I greatly appreciate your feedback. My first worry is that it could result in frustration with repeated early losses.  The rationale for the current 3-loss system is: from what I can tell so far, the most fun part of the game is once your build starts to really come together and you can get some satisfying, optimized big spins (midgame), so I want to make sure most runs can make it to that point.

On reflection though, there may some other approaches that keep the tension higher while giving a good chance to get a nice run going (example: maybe the first 4-5 battles are all singleplayer and then the final few battles are the high-stakes pvp; all the while 1 loss means game over)

Thanks so much for checking SpinFighters out and sharing your thoughts!

That's a fair point actually — after playing more runs, I’m starting to see what you mean. But still, I love a challenge. Overall, I really love this prototype! Would it be cool with you if I featured it on a Top 5 list of upcoming deckbuilders/prototypes on Itch?
(I’m rebranding my YouTube to focus purely on roguelikes/deckbuilders — I’ll make sure to explain that it's still in early development and the art is placeholder.) Thanks!

Absolutely!

Your games are great and I'll be sure to check this soon and give some feedback!

I very much am. Came across this by total chance and instantly remembered Metabattler from your itch page. Cheers!

I've played 2 versions of the game so far, and I'm happy to say that I enjoy it and the game has improved between then! Auto battlers aren't my favorite kind of game, but this one's really able to capture your attention when your deck starts working. The dev's good with criticism and has a clear vision for what they're trying to accomplish. Definitely worth a look, and I'm very excited to see where development goes!

Thanks for giving this autobattler a try :) I'm glad you've enjoyed the changes so far, only more to come!

This is a great game with fun blend of a slot machine deck builder and pvp battler.
